Preperations began early in May with a bunting workshop. Our fabulous bunting makers supplied us with enough colourful handmade bunting to fill the whole village. Our local shops also took part and many decorated their windows.
We kicked off our weekend on Friday with the "Fit for a Queen" cake competition. Our panel of judges tasted, deliberated and awarded prizes in 7 categories for children and adults.
Friday continued with a jam-packed Vintage Jubilee Tea Rooms with the Young at Heart Ladies Group. Live music from John Woodhouse, Coronation memorabilia and fabulous homemade cakes, all served in true 1950s style.
Our Jubilee Day on Saturday had something for everyone. The fabulous Pom Pom Childrens' Entertainer, Crown Workshop, Board Games Area, Storytelling Tent. Local Cherry Hinton History Exhibition with the WI Scrapbook, Vintage Stallholders, Skills Share Area, The Jubilee Book Stall with Childrens' book giveaway, Natyanjali Bollywood dance display, Cherry Hinton Treasure Hunt, Recycling area with "Make your own birdfeeder" Cherry Hinton history walks and refreshments courtesy of The Community Cafe.
