Residents will no longer need to pre-book slots to visit Household Recycling Centres in Cambridgeshire.
From Tuesday 1 March bookings will no longer be needed to visit any of the nine sites, with the requirement being removed to coincide with the national easing of Covid restrictions.
Drivers of vans and trailers will still be required to have an E-Permit to visit the sites, with permits registered by site staff on arrival.
The requirement to book visits was introduced during the pandemic to help manage traffic flow and coincide with national safety measures including social distancing. The flow of vehicles will continue to be controlled by staff at site entrances, but sites will now be operating at pre-Covid capacity.
Councillor Lorna Dupré, chair of the council’s Environment and Green Investment Committee, said: “We’re happy to announce that residents will no longer need to pre-book visits to our Household Recycling Centres, which we feel is no longer necessary as Covid restrictions are being eased.
“However, we would still advise residents visiting the sites to stay safe and follow safety guidance where possible. We would also like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation when visiting the sites since the start of the pandemic.”
